What is forex?

Probably many people have asked themselves: what means Forex? This word abbreviates the name of a big trading market: foreign exchange market. First of all it is important to explain what is exchanged in this market,  and why is a foreign market. The word exchange refers to the currency exchange, and as currencies come from all over the world,  this market is defined “foreign”.

To exchange currencies means to change a currency with another, why? Because you want to buy something from another country,  or you want to spend your summer holidays in a foreign country,  and there your currency is not accepted. So the basic activity of this market is exchange currencies. The protagonists of this market could be: owners of an international market that have to exchange currencies once a week or more, the second protagonist of forex is the speculator.
